We only provide guidelines, as there are many variables involved (eg location, industry, your network etc). For example, if you are planning to serve non-profit organizations or leaders, that is likely to have a different price point than if you’re serving businesses and business leaders. Your rate will also depend upon your associated experience and reputation, and it may be impacted by your own approach with regards to whether this is your main source of revenue or something you do on the side. All that said, we tend to think about serving clients in terms of a simple day-rate, which differs whether we are serving individuals or organizations. We also slide this scale for non-profits/ministries on both ends. As an example, our top Guides may charge $2,500/day for LifePlan ($2K/day for non-profit) and $4,500/day for certain organizations ($3,500 non-profit). Prices are further tailored to a given market. Lastly, if you’re engaging a large StratOp client, and there’s a lot of complexity, your rate may be higher owing to the additional work and preparation required. Overall, in this work, typical day rates for Guides range from $1K-$3K/day for LifePlan, and $2K-$6K/day for StratOp.
What should I expect to charge a client? Is there a prescribed price or are there guidelines?
